CASINO ROYALE

This is a trailer i edited in Final cut pro for the James Bond movie Casino Royale. I added my own audio in Logic Pro 7. This is by far one of the harder things I've tried to score and this piece still needs a lot of work. In the beginning the audio doesn't line up perfectly. This is not really a fluke. I had the idea of trying to use Pierce Brosnan's voice for the Daniel Craig Bond. It was impossible to match perfectly but I did my best. Look for a cleaner version of my trailer coming soon. For now check it out.....

MILE HIGH

One of my biggest passion's in life is music and sound. I regularly carry around a digital audio recorder with me to record sounds in every day life. I use the Edirol R-09 model because of it's high quality sound and pickup levels. A few months back I took multiple flights and recorded all the audio. I decided to make an artistic audio piece with the footage and ad my own sound effects and dialogue on top of it. I had to friends help out with the dialogue. This project was created in logic pro 7. Enjoy.

Editing

In 1 week I will be done with school forever! Unfortunately, that means that I'm going to have to start working full time. I have a few options set up in LA and I wanna bring my A game if I start an internship there. With this in mind I've been touching up on my editing skills. My friend works for an editing company in the bay area and has been showing me a few tricks in final cut studio. Here's a little preview of what can be done in Studio. While very short there is about 20 hours worth of work behind this clip. It is done with final cut, motion, live type, logic, and photoshop.

Election Time

The holidays are almost here, and that means that the primaries are right around the corner. Lately i've been seeing a lot of ads for presidential candidates, and i've been interested due to a political communication class I'm taking here at state. I had to write a paper recently on how I would construct an ad for a presidential candidate, so i thought I might as well try to make the ad as well. Unfortunately, my computer has been acting up and I haven't been able to run final cut pro correctly, so for this video I was limited to Imovie. I never use Imovie and the editing process was incredibly hard on such a weak program. I couldn't figure out how to time the titles so there are some errors in the video that will be fixed when final cut is back and running. Once again the video was scored in Logic Pro 7. Enjoy.

HARDWARE

As many of you know I am a student at San Francisco State University. One of the biggest disappointments for me in the BECA major is the lack of hardware we are provided with on campus. Even when it comes to software Pro tools is your only real choice. The major, while being one of the best of in California also lacks a music production side. Most of the classes in production are geared more towards audio and video's technical side rather then too individual creation. I have always liked the raw side of hardware with the inclusion of software, and a few months ago I went out and bought an Akai MPC 1000. The MPC is a music sampler and production center (not a drum machine). The likes of this machine are used in most major studios and have played important roles in soundtracking and scoring movies as well. More recently the RZA used tools of this kind to do audio for the Kill Bill movies. I also went out and purchased the JJ OS software upgrade which heavily bumps up the features of the original Akai software. For those of you who don't know about the JJ OS it's $40 and well worth the money. You can read more about the JJ OS here

Here's my first decent production on the MPC 1000. Enjoy.

While I'm finally getting the understanding for this powerful machine I still have a lot to learn. The MPC is definitely a tool that you not only need to get the feel for, but also heavily study manuals and forums. Here's a video from Boon Doc in Denver that will hopefully show you some more of the MPC's potential.

Look for more video's coming soon.

The Christmas Song

Well the air is getting crisper and that can only mean one thing, Christmas is coming! So here's a short music video from my friend Ryan and I to you. Enjoy.

The Christmas Song

A music video of a Christmas Song remix classic. Very Funny.

-Yes, we know posse is spelled wrong. It's better that way.

Can't Tolerate Nothin'

Every time I turn on my car radio I hear Kanye West. It seems like you can't escape him and his music. My roommate Danny and I were hanging out one night and we decided that someone needed to spoof him. Some lyrics were written up and recorded on my Logic system, and we shot a one take practice video. So here's a sneak peak of the song (not yet mastered) and the video. The video will be completely redone. It was raining outside the day we were filming.

Here's the original Kanye song.

Here's the spoof "Can't Tolerate Nothin'"

Sorry the lyrics and video don't sync up perfectly. They do in the production, but youtube tweaked it a little bit. Look for the final audio and video version coming soon.
